Single Review – Crystal Stilts – Delirium Tremendous

New York band Crystal Stilts follow up from their 2013 album Nature Noir with a new single that was released on June 3rd. ‘Delirium Tremendous’ shoots off with a choppy and rapid riff which nudges the songs rhythm along with the bass doing likewise. Brad Hargett’s vocals lay low and echo back on themselves for a bold yet subtle sound. They provide a calming balance against the driven instrumentals. This is tipped on it’s head as the space rock trance takes over the track. Now the vocal is anchoring down the distant and slow moving sounds. This transition back to the earlier form is made all the more easy with the continuity of the vocal and it results in a simple song with great rhythm and a slick divergence to a different feel and style within it.
