Single Review – Kult Country – Trembling Moon

Manchester’s Kult Country return with their new single ‘Trembling Moon’ a year on from their debut single ‘Slowburn’. Out on Monday on 7-inch through No Self records; the song is a warping, whirring and undulating piece of Shoegaze with clear similarities to My Bloody Valentine but with a clear kick and hook to latch onto. The rumbling bass line gives you this along with the more active vocal which still fades and washes out into the pool of distortion behind it from the guitars, but doesn’t become consumed by them. This is key to giving the song a little more direction and an instant feel, but it remains completely immersive and wonderfully distant like such a song should. A great piece of Shoegaze and one that does more than enough to set itself out against the crowd.
