Single Review – Suuns – Translate

Hailing from the hub of dynamic and experimental pop music that is Montreal is Suuns. They are here with a new track in ‘Translate’ which is from their April 15th album Hold/Still. From what is now their fourth album, they have often teased a really innovative and game changing album with their combined rock and experimental-electronic sound. We’ve only ever had fleeting moments however. ‘Translate’ sees the group opt for a more sonorous sound from their synths and sharp, spiky riffs along with a crisp percussion. These elements develop into a oscillating haze once the echoed vocals are added into the equation. An interesting song in terms of track progression and a neat change of direction leave Suuns with a positive start to 2016.
