Single Review – Ra Ra Riot – Foreign Lovers

The Indie quintet from Syracuse, New York that are Ra Ra Riot are releasing their fourth studio album Need Your Light on Friday and to precede this they are releasing a last single from the album in ‘Foreign Lovers’. It is evocative of what was best of the Indie revival of 2005. It has the prominent bass line with the guitars, percussions and in this case strings entering the track in short bursts. A more significant sweep of sound takes over in the chorus away from the more sparse verses. It is quite an energetic and simple track and nothing more, but it is a good listen even if it is nothing inventive.
