Single Review – Biffy Clyro – Wolves of Winter

Biffy Clyro mark their return and the pending release of their seventh studio album Ellipsis with a new single ‘Wolves of Winter’. Whilst the track suggests that Simon Neil and his band haven’t strayed away from the heavier tones they’ve plied in the past, but may have made some key alterations to their evolved sound. The low, rumbling bass lines, crashing guitars and percussion are tightly packed into bursts of sound whilst there are some minor layers of electronica both on Neil’s vocals and the overriding sound itself. It doesn’t suggest much in the way change, but more adding to the sound fans are already familiar with.
