Single Review – Blondie – Long Time

Blondie’s new single ‘Long Time’ is a continuation of their resent stint at collaborations. This time it comes in the form of a co-write with Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes. With such amazing talents working together you wouldn’t be risking too much in presuming something interesting should have resulted. And ‘Long Time’ does not disappoint. A delicious gem shining with Debbie Harry’s ‘Heart of Glass’ era vocals sassily scathing over some addictive rolling synths this is an upbeat masterclass in how disco tinted punk is done. ‘Long Time’ proves nothing can and will ever age this bands sound. With upcoming LP ‘Pollinator’ due for release May 5th through BMG things are only just heating up. The LP well also feature collaborations with Charlie XCX, Joan Jett and Johnny Marr to name but a few.
